Ford is American but that car was built in Cockermouth, Cumbria, England by Malcolm Wilson Motorsport (aka M-Sport).

Ye', we had that same response from the national press when Cockermouth (named after the location being at the mouth of the rivers Derwent and Cocker) was flooded in 2009.

Not only that, the Fiesta is usually considered either a German car (known for being built in Cologne, Germany) or a Spanish car (known for being built in Almussafes, Valencia, Spain), because of those countries being the primary production sites for the Fiesta globally.
For example, on IMCDb (Internet Movie Cars Database), it's listed as 'Origin: Germany', with the exception of the current Fiesta sedan, which is listed as 'Origin: USA'.
